ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - It's called one of the most important economic weekends of the year for businesses in historic downtown St. Charles. The annual Festival of the Little Hills is underway on Main Street. Organizers think as many as 350-thousand people could come to the festival. It started on Friday and will continue through Sunday.

Retailers hope that many potential customers will help their bottom lines in what still a tough economy. At Jake's on Main, life is good when the festival opens up. The manager says business is tremendous during the festival.

It is a similar story at Lewis and Clark's Restaurant. The weekend is circled as a major money maker.

From the funnel cake to furniture, jewelry to artwork, there is something for everyone at the Festival of the Little Hills.

Some 350 booths are spread out along Main Street and the riverfront.

Festival Chairperson Linda Jackson-Regot says between two and three hundred thousand people usually come out. With the mild weather this weekend, she expects that number to jump to nearly 350,000.

The festival is open from 9:30AM until 10:00PM on Saturday and 9:30AM until 5:00PM on Sunday.
