AT 918 PM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS WERE
TRACKING A TORNADO. THIS IS A TORNADO EMERGENCY AS A LARGE
TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR AURORA
…OR 17 MILES EAST OF GRAND
ISLAND…AND MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH.

The funnel cloud from this tornado in Nebraska in the US spanned a quarter of a mile, derailing train cars, uprooting trees and downing power lines.

A bright flash of lightning can be seen as the thunderstorm swept across the Midwest.

The tornado remained on the ground for 18 minutes a few miles west of the town of Aurora, weather forecasters said. There were no reports of injuries
