three brothers found dead in lake
Harris County and Houston authorities work at the scene of the three drownings. Harris County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. John Legg said several deputies, using public address systems and spotlights, in vehicles and on foot, looked for the brothers from Sunday evening until 2 a.m. Monday.HOUSTON (AP) - Investigators say three young brothers whose bodies were found in Lake Houston apparently drowned during a fishing trip. The three - 14, 16 and 21 years old - went to the lake about 7 a.m. Sunday. A relative who tried to deliver drinks to them later only found the truck belonging to the oldest victim. Houston District Fire Chief Tommy Dowdy said the bodies were recovered Monday in the lake in the northeast part of the city. Relatives told the Houston Chronicle none of the three could swim. Authorities said it appeared one of the brothers went into the water and the other two may have tried to rescue him. The two boys arrived from Mexico last week to join their oldest brother, who lived in Houston with his wife and a child.
