us open golf standings

us open golf standings

The US Open golf standings have just two people leading the US Open golf standings over everyone else. But the US Open golf standings aren't led by Tiger and Phil, but by Ricky and Lucas The US Open golf standings have Ricky Barnes and Lucas Glover leading by a wide margin, as the final round finally gets started. Today, the US Opengolf tournament may finally crown a champion, and it is rapidly looking like the standings will favor one of these two unknowns.

The US Open golf standings heading into today have Ricky Barnes and Lucas Glover leading the field by five shots. Both were -7 under par, with four players, including Phil Mickelson, tied for third at -2. Unless there is a big comeback, or unless either Barnes or Glover collapse, the top of the US Open golf standings may be dominated by just these two players.

Ever since the rain stopped falling at the US Open, the standings have been led primarily by Barnes and Glover. Mike Weir was among the leaders most of the way, but he dropped down in the standings after a 74 in Round Three.

Ricky Barnes and Lucas Glover are the most unlikely people to lead the US Open golf standings. Barnes has never won a PGA event, and Glover had never made the cut at a US Open. Barnes hasn't even had a top 10 finish this year, though Glover has picked up a few.

Even though it is trendy to have unknowns win majors these days, like Zach Johnson, Trevor Immelman and Michael Campbell, these two are the ultimate unknowns.

But it is these unknowns leading the way, and likely to keep leading the US Open golf standings, no matter how much fans may hope for Woods or Mickelson to make a final run. Mickelson is five shots back heading into today, but would have to shoot a little better than even or -1 under to make a run.

Woods, on the other hand, has been more than 10 shots back for most of the US Open. He finally made a charge to get to even par, but is still seven shots back in the standings, and almost halfway through his final round heading into today.
