jay leno last show

jay leno last show
It wasn't flashy or unforgettable, but Jay Leno ended his 17-year Tonight Show run with a lovely and classy finale Friday night.
The closing segment was especially touching. In response to reporters asking him what he wanted his "legacy" to be, Leno brought onstage all of the children who had been born to parents who met while they were working on The Tonight Show during his tenure. There were 68 of them onstage as the program ended, and Leno said he hoped these children were part of his legacy. While it might sound corny, I thought it was a very moving and original moment.
As for the rest of the hour, the best thing about it was how much it resembled the usual show rather than some kind of grand finale.
Leno delivered the same kind of opening monologue as he did every night -- only a little funnier. Among his best lines:
"When I started this show, my hair was black and the president was white...I was cleaning out my office today, and I found O.J.'s knife...Everybody asks me if I'm going on vacation. Yeah, I'm going to a secluded spot where nobody can find me: NBC prime time."
