The former president of South Korea, Roh Moo-hyun, who had been under inv
estigation for alleged corruption, has apparently committed suicide.
His former chief of staff said Mr Roh appeared to have jumped to his death from a rock while mountain climbing in the south of the country, and had left a brief suicide note.
