SARASOTA — Siesta Beach in Sarasota was ranked the second best beach on the a
nnual list of America’s Best Beaches produced by coastal expert Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, also known as “Dr. Beach.”
Siesta Beach was runner up to Hanalei Bay in Kauai, Hawaii.
According to dr.beach.org, Siesta Beach received high honors because of its fine, white sand and clear, warm water. The only other Florida beach to make the list was Cape Florida in Key Biscayne.
