I have read a lot of articles talking about the tragic treadmill acci
dent that has now claimed the life of Mike Tyson's 4 year old baby girl Exodus.The little girl died of strangulation after getting a cord wrapped around her neck on the family's treadmill while her mother was doing chores in another room. Her 7 year old brother discovered her near lifeless body after being asked to check on her by her mom. She lingered on life support for a day and then passed.
Obviously this is an accident. But as a mother and one who has a home gym with treadmill, bike, etc. I was shocked to hear that little Exodus was allowed in a room with a treadmill unsupervised. My littlest is allowed in our home gym only when I am in there with him and he is not allowed on any of the equipment or near the weights.
But though I am safe about our home gym, I am the first to admit that I, like most moms (even if they don't admit it), have left my children in unsafe situations in the home while trying top get chores done.
